About
Renowned for its culture of kindness, everything done at Brighton College can be traced back to the desire to create an environment where pupils are happy. That's why young people are encouraged to follow their curiosity and explore all aspects of school life. Teachers inspire excellence in the classroom, co-curricular activities enable pupils to immerse themselves in the arts and in a huge variety of sports, and the social enrichment programme helps bring meaningful change to the world around the pupils.
Boarding has never been so popular, and Brighton College is a home away from home. All boarders benefit from state-of-the art facilities, warm relationships with those in their house families, a rich programme of clubs and activities, and everything the College has to offer.
Most recently, The Sunday Times named Brighton College ‘Top Co-educational School in the UK’, ‘UK School of the Year for A-levels 2025’, ‘UK Boarding School of the Year 2025’ and 'UK School of the Decade'. The Week named the College ‘Best Sixth Form in Britain’, ‘Britain's Most Forward-thinking School' and ‘Top in Britain for STEM’.
Brighton College regularly achieves the best A-level and GCSE results of any co-educational school and achieved the best A-level results of any school in England in 2024.

Facilities
The buildings have won numerous architectural awards for their innovative designs and help make Brighton College the most forward-thinking school in Britain. An arts centre, library, music school and recital hall and pavilion are just a few of the the various dedicated buildings on Brighton Colleges campus.
Situated at the heart of this campus is The Richard Cairns Building, opened in April 2024. A stunning addition, this innovative feat of engineering is the new hub for performing arts, complete with a Sixth Form centre, English department, dance school and a breathtaking 400-seat theatre. Designed by Dutch architects krft, this building is the very beacon of both academic and performing arts success.
Boarding houses have been designed to ensure a sense of community and comfort during and after school. The award-winning Simon Smith Building becomes a social space for boarders in the evening, with a stylish cafe, outside theatre space and study stations. The girls' boarding house, New House, was awarded a RIBA architectural prize and was longlisted for the prestigious Stirling Prize.
For those who enjoy competitive sport and games, Brighton College has produced over 30 Brightonians who have represented their country in a variety of sports in the last 10 years. Their world-class sporting facilities and dedicated coaches enable pupils to discover new interests and refine their techniques. With the opening of the School of Science and Sport there are even more possibilities than before.
Extracurricular Activities
The community of boarders enjoy a full and exciting activities programme on offer each evening and weekend.
