Dr. van der Borden is an OB/GYN Consultant and the Medical Director at OceanMed.

Originally from the Netherlands, Dr. Van Der Borden graduated from Erasmus University in Rotterdam and trained in OB/GYN within major teaching hospitals. Dr. Van Der Borden has consistently been appointed clinic lead of the Gynecology Department and Maternity Wards before becoming Medical Director in all the hospitals where she worked.

A highly experienced physician in all areas of OB/GYN, Dr. Van Der Borden specializes in colposcopy, infertility, recurring miscarriages, menstrual irregularities, the hysteroscopic management of lesions and the endometrial lining, female genital prolapse, hormonal disturbances, high-risk pregnancies, vaginal and cesarean delivery and menopausal care.

Before moving to the Cayman Islands, Dr. van der Borden worked in the UK (Gibraltar) for three years, where she dedicated her time to updating and developing clinical guidelines and setting up the EPAU (Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit) clinic. She continued her work in Abu Dhabi, developing policies, initiating risk-management strategies, and performing her clinical duties.

A multilinguist, Dr. van der Borden speaks English, Dutch, German, and some French and combines a professional approach with her warm, approachable sense of humor
