Facilities
Beautiful stained glass and leaded windows characterise the 105-year-old building, while gleaming glass and wide-open spaces mark the recently built Junior School. The new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) complex features open-concept classrooms designed to spark inquiry, curiosity and collaboration. All these spaces come together to make a unique and exhilarating campus.
Extracurricular Activities
The arts at BSS reflect students’ identities and interests. Students drive the creative process and experiment with new modes of expression. Opportunities to create and perform are meaningful and connected to the school and broader community.
Through the Athletics programme, athletes learn time management, commitment and responsibility. They learn to focus and set priorities, and they benefit from improved self-confidence and wellbeing. At BSS, girls develop a lifelong enjoyment of sport, physical activity and being involved. Experienced coaches work alongside our teachers, allowing for high-level competition in a safe environment.
A variety of experiences take students beyond their usual urban environment, whether a hike nearby or an overnight expedition in the wilderness. The Statten-Northway Award inspires Grade 7 and 8 students to be involved in service, skills development and physical activity. Students also have opportunities to travel outside the province or country, opening new horizons and expanding their cultural awareness.
